DWI / DUI
Arrested for DWI, and need a DWI Attorney? It is not the end of the world, however, it also should not be taken lightly. There are immediate consequences on your driver license, including DIC 24 refusal suspensions if you refused to provide a blood or breath test, and in the alternative, if you provide a sample and the results are above the legal limit. You will want to hire an attorney experienced in Driving Under the Influence cases as soon as possible to address the charge and the driver license suspension.
A DWI arrest is not a conviction.
There are several defenses that can be raised when a person is accused of Driving While Intoxicated. Everything starts from the time the police started investigating your case. Contact the lawyers at Beaty and Sipes at (972) 876-4046 or email to schedule a free 30 minute consultation. |
On a DWI case it is important to know:
1) Was there a 911 call that reported a vehicle similar to yours or did the officer just pull you over for a traffic violation and start fishing for clues of intoxication?
2) Were you involved in an DWI related accident and the officer is trying to asses blame for the cause of the accident?
3) Why did he ask you to step out of the car, what observations did the officer claim and why did he ask you to submit to field sobriety tests?
Often times officers are inexperienced in DWI arrests and the field sobriety tests. If not performed properly those tests can produce inaccurate results and the tests can be suppressed. Once arrested a scientific blood or breath test will be requested by the officer. A breath test gives an immediate result and a blood test will be forwarded to a forensic lab. These tests are also subject to challenge and the results may be suppressed under certain circumstances.
